DCC is keeping the entrepreneurial spirit alive

Quality will out. As the pandemic spread across the globe, the acquisitive DCC ploughed on with deals while further shoring up its finances. With all but one of its divisions motoring, the marketing and supply business managed to deliver a healthy increase in interim profit and lifted its dividend. The shares, which fell sharply in the March sell-off, have more than recovered their poise since. The question for its investors, then, might be whether the stock represents good value for money.

DCC was founded in Ireland in 1976, essentially as a private equity investor that gradually evolved into an industrial holding company. Listed on the stock market in 1994, its headquarters remain in Dublin, although it operates in 20 countries. In its most recent financial
